Here is our story,
The 3Lads
Whilst on an epic adventure through beautiful Brazil, we were looking for a bird that was avoiding us at will. Through farmlands and cities we travelled for days, but still no toucan, its like they know all our ways. Finally whilst crawling through cherries of gold we caught sight of the bird that was turning us old. The cherries of gold were coffee we were told, and from that day we were properly sold.
3 Lads and a Toucan is a Durban Based Brand supplying great quality coffee , directly sourced from origin. We won’t ever compromise on quality and you’ll taste that from your first sip! Our coffee Beans are all of Specialty grade – this means that these are not your standard commercial grade beans… these are some of the best beans out there.
The company was started by two brothers Kobi and Barend van Schalkwyk. Kobi having previously come from a Media/Trade marketing business is at the helm as the Managing Director. Barend is currently working on a project in the Netherlands and works remotely to ensure that we tick all the boxes from an HR perspective. Charl Mcleod joined the business post his retirement from Professional rugby in 2019 and looks after the finances of the business as Financial Director.
All three lads are coffee addicts , this greatly helps to ensure that there will always be stock available!
The aim of the business is to provide great quality specialty coffee at reasonable prices through various channels, ensuring accessibility to as many people as possibly.
3 Lads and a Toucan also strongly believes in giving back. At the end of each financial a portion of the company profits gets donated to a charitable cause.
